Di antara buku-buku yang dibeli presiden Barack Obama adalah Chasing Fortune, Truth and Faith in the New China dan Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End.

Barack Obama juga membeli buku fiksi dewasa Redwall Trilogi karya Brian Jacques, novel anak-anak Cartwheeling in Thunderstorms karya Katherine Rundell dan Nuts To You karya Lynn Rae Perkins.

Presiden yang gemar membaca di Amerika Serikat bukan hal yang baru, seperti Abraham Lincoln yang mencintai buku Clasic.
